Classroom Expectations from Arrival to Departure for
Computer Class Grades 3 through 8 2011 – 2012 School Year
Supplies necessary for class each week are ear buds (small ear phones) and a memory stick.
- Upon arrival at the Lab line-up quietly in the hall.
- Bring nothing into the Lab with you; place anything you have with you against the wall. (Boys against the computer lab wall and girls against the art room wall)
- First person in line is to get permission to enter room.
- Enter quietly and go directly to your assigned computer and stand behind the chair.
- When directed we will pray as a group for God’s guidance.
- When directed we will sit down.
- The day’s assignment will be given out, if in written form a student will be requested to read it to the class as the rest of class follows along.
- Students will be dismissed by module to get earphones and memory sticks.
- Students will proceed to work on the assignment according to the written or oral directions.
- If you have any questions you may quietly come to my desk and I will be happy to help you. Remember I am able to access each person’s computer and help you from my desk, but to make sure you have my attention, request help quietly and then return to your assigned computer.
- Turn in all assignments by the date due.
- Print all information to the Laser Printers and only print to the Color Printers with my express permission.
- If you complete the assignment before the time is called please begin work on Keyboarding. There are different sites that you can use this year. Go to the school website, then academics, then computer and finally 3-8 Mrs. Wright for your choices, you will find them on the right hand side.
- When time is called please make sure you react immediately and remove your earphones and memory stick and return them to your baggie. Please do not leave your seat until directed to do so. You will be dismissed by groups. You will exit the room quietly and line-up in the hall to be given directions to proceed to the next class.
- You are not permitted to change the monitor background, screen saver, gadgets or mouse pointer options. Doing so seriously upsets the students in primary grades.
- Each time you enter the Lab you will have 10 points. It is your responsibility to retain your points. You loose one point for each infraction of the rules. If you loose three points in one class you will have an unsatisfactory grade in computer. You can loose points for:
Disrespecting the teacher.
Disrespecting a classmate.
Disrespecting the computer.
Talking when inappropriate.
Using a cell phone to talk or text. (See Student Handbook)
Changing options on Computer.
Failure to respond quickly when a direction is given.
Failure to push in chair when leaving Lab.
Failure to have earphones and memory stick available each class.
Failure to put earphones and memory stick away carefully.
Leaving papers and trash about the computer area.
Any student found to be on a website that is not appropriate will loose the privilege of using the computer in the Lab and in the other classrooms. My trust in you is your most valuable asset.
