Classroom Rules: The classroom rules will be posted in the classroom all year. The students are expected to follow these rules, not only in our classroom, but also throughout the day where ever they are on school grounds.
- Listen while others are talking
- Follow directions
- Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself
- Work quietly and do not disturb others
- Show respect for school and personal property
- Work and play in a safe manner
Behavioral System: “Buckaroo Behavior” Each child will have a sheriff badge with his/her name on it. They will all start in the good bandana pot on Monday. This is where they would like their badge to stay. There will be three other pots labeled 1, 2 and 3. If the rules are continuously broken, the student will move their badge to pot #1. Then if they continue to not listen or follow the rules, it will be moved to the next and so on. Each student will be reminded of the rules and given ample warning before their badge is moved. We want the students to realize the importance of behaving properly in the classroom and around school. They will be moving their own badge so they learn to take responsibility for their actions. If the student is moved to pot #1 they will lose the privilege of choosing from the treasure box on Friday. If they are in pot #2, they will have no treasure box and will sit out recess the next morning. If they are in pot #3 for the week, they lose treasure box, morning recess and will not participate in Friday center time. They will be given practice sheets to reinforce and gain more practice on current areas of learning.
