
Welcome to Mrs. Gundle’s Fourth Grade Class!
2011 – 2012
I hope everyone is as excited as I am to start a new school year at St. Patrick’s. I have been a part of the St. Patrick’s community my entire life. I look forward to a wonderful year of learning with your children.
Our Classroom Rules:
- Be Considerate and Respectful – Keep hands, feet, objects, and unkind words to yourself.
- Be Responsible – Complete and turn in all work on time.
- Follow Directions – Pay attention and follow procedures.
- Work Hard – Success is achieved by diligence and hard work.
Additional Information:
Homework will be assigned every night – Monday thru Friday. All homework will be an extension of what was covered in class. It should be completed and turned in on time. Homework and other important information will be recorded daily by the student in their planners. Please check their planners for this information.
Students will be required to read 20 minutes nightly and complete their reading log.
The school website is www.stpatrickcatholic.org/ and our weekly plans will be posted. Please do not rely only on the website since changes may be made depending on what happens in class. The planner will be used as the main form of communication.
Students are expected to wear their school uniforms everyday. Students will have PE on Mon, Thurs, and Fri and it will be necessary to bring their PE clothes on these days.
Fourth Grade Curriculum:
Religion: Our religious studies cover four units: 1. Growing in Jesus. 2. The Commandments help us to love God. 3. The Commandments help us to love others. 4. We are called to Holiness.
Science: Our science study will cover Life Science, Earth Science, and Physical Science.
Math: Math topics of study will include problem solving, place value, multiplication, division, fractions, measurement, statistics, and probability.
Language Arts: Language Arts will include writing, vocabulary, grammar, and spelling. Spelling grades are separate from the Language Arts grade.
Social Studies: Social Studies will cover Florida History.
Reading: Reading will include fluency, reading comprehension, literary analysis (fiction and nonfiction) and communication (oral reports).

Please make sure that AR books are being read to reach their individual goals and that goal sheets are being signed.
