Student Expectations and General Classroom Procedures
1. Students are expected to wait quietly outside the classroom door until they are allowed into the room.
2. Upon entering the room, please go directly to your assigned seat.
3. Please take out your notebook, pencil and anything else required for class. You are allowed to sharpen pencils at this time only.
4. Place homework assignment on your desk. On math assignments all work must be shown next to the problem in order to receive credit.
5. The class will start with a prayer.
6. The homework assignment answers will be given. Students will correct and score their own paper. We will review the solutions to the assignment.
7. In math class an oral problem will be given. When you have it solved, raise your hand. Once I have called upon a student with the correct answer, we will review the solution to the the oral problem.
8. The class presentation will begin. Students are required to take notes.
9. At the end of class the homework assignment will be written on the board. Students are required to copy the assignment into their assignment book.
10. When you are dismissed, pack your materials and quietly line up in the back of the room. You will pass in your corrected and scored homework assignment to me as you leave the room. If you do not pass in the assignment at this time, then you must sign the Missing Assignment Log.
11. Whenever a visitor enters the room, students are required to stand and greet the visitor (”good morning” or “good afternoon” followed by the visitor’s name, if known).

Homework
Homework will be given every day, except on Fridays. Assignments are due the next day. An assignment passed in late, but on the same day that it was due, will lose 10 points. Assignments passed in one day late will lose 25 points. Assignments passed in more than one day late will receive no credit. Three missing assignments will result in a mandatory study hall. The missing work will be made up, but no credit will be given. Assignments missed because of absence are required to be made up. Students will have one week to make-up any assignments missed. Extra credit assignments are not given in mathematics nor grade 6 social studies.
Grading
Grades are based upon homework assignments, tests and quizzes. The St. Patrick Catholic School grading system is followed. In 7th and 8th grade, mid-year and final exams are given. These exams are included in the final subject grade.
Please note that changes or modifications to these procedures may occur during the year.
