Class Description

Welcome to TV Production:

In this class students will learn basic television and video production skills. They will experience broadcasting live television as well as producing pre-recorded video segments. Each student will have the opportunity to work in front of and behind the camera. They will take turns working with the sound board, teleprompter, microphones and many different props. Our goal is to provide live morning announcements once a week on Fridays through the school’s closed circuit television system.

Each Wednesday during class, we will be preparing the news segments and practicing script rehearsals for Friday’s broadcast. Students will be required to report to the TV production classroom by 8:00 a.m. each Friday to prepare for the 8:20 broadcast.

Students will be expected to conduct themselves professionally both in front of the camera and when handling the video equipment.

Classroom Guidelines:

1. Respect yourself and others.

2. Respect all property.

3. Be polite.

4. Be prepared for class and for the live broadcast when it is your turn.

5. Always remain in your seat until instructed to do differently.

6. Do NOT touch the video equipment unless instructed to do so.
