This Week In Music:
CONGRATULATIONS to all who participated in the Christmas and Grandparents Day music performances!! Everyone did a fantastic job and our hard work really showed! Now we are preparing for our Spring concert performance, which will be on Thursday, May 10th, 2012 at 7pm. Check the calendar link at the top for details! Our K-3rd grade classes will be collaborating to do a short musical of an eastern European folktale called “Too Much Noise!”. This show is about a family who learns the hard way the importance of counting your blessings and appreciating what you have. This is set with a few acting roles and some great nursery rhymes which are sung to new music, each with a different musical style (jazz, calypso, pop, etc). On with the show!
Class Description and Important Information:
In Kindergarten through 3rd grade, students will learn about music by creating, performing, listening, reading and notating, evaluating, and understanding. Musical experiences in class include singing, playing classroom instruments, composing, learning music theory, music history, and above all, having fun! Music is co-curricular, so expect to be learning across the board as we get into a wide variety of repertoire.
